Non-spot advertising

Three to five minutes that are about you.

Instead of a commercial break lasting a few seconds, we deliver the non-spot principle: an item that gives your products and services real attention, in which you — or your owner, CEO or marketing manager — are interviewed by the presenter. On location or in the studio.

The difference

Commercial versus non-spot

Both cost money and both are on television. That is where the resemblance ends.

Aspect Commercial Non-spot (branded content)
Length 20 to 30 seconds 3 to 9 minutes
Form An advert in the commercial break An editorial item inside the programme
Who speaks A voice-over You, interviewed by the presenter
Location A studio or the agency set Your own business, or our studio
The viewer Zaps away or sits out the break Keeps watching, because it is the programme
What sticks A message A story and a face

How it works

This is how it goes

Six steps from the first conversation to the broadcast. You keep control: you decide the subject, and the running order is ready before the camera is switched on.

1

First meeting

Together we look at which programme and which channel suit your product and your audience. No cost, no obligation.

2

Running order

You decide what the item is about. Before the shoot there is a running order built around your wishes, checked against the Dutch Media Act.

3

Shoot

Shot at your own premises or in our studio in Hilversum. We supply the presenter, direction, camera, lighting and sound.

4

Post

Final edit, colour grading, audio post and voice-over. Music rights (BUMA/STEMRA) are cleared.

5

Broadcast

Your item goes out on the agreed channel, at the broadcast slot we go through with you. The channel fee is included in the price.

6

Afterwards

Placement on social media, plus a digital version of the item that you may use without limit, on your own site and in your own channels.

Step 4, post-production

Ready for broadcast means measured

An item is not finished when it looks good. Broadcast has hard requirements: the picture goes past the vectorscope, the audio level is read out and corrected. Only then is it ready to air. Colour grading, audio post, voice-over and the clearing of music rights are included in the price.

Rates

What it costs

We put the prices on the site because you have a right to know before you call. All amounts are in euros, all-in and excluding VAT. The length on the card is the length of your item.

Most chosen 3 minutes 2990 All-in, excluding add-ons
4 minutes 3990 All-in, excluding add-ons
5 minutes On request All-in, excluding add-ons
How often your item is broadcast depends on the programme and the channel. On Puur Genieten on SBS 6, for instance, it airs on Saturday and on Sunday; what applies to your item is something we go through at the first meeting.
The filming is charged for. But you stay in control: you decide what the item is about, and before filming starts there is a running order ready that matches your wishes.

Extended: 6 and 9 minutes

We make longer items too. What such an item costs depends on what goes into it, so we quote that on request.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Is this advertising or is it a programme?
It is an editorial item within a programme, paid for by you. That is called non-spot. The Dutch Media Act sets conditions for it and every item is checked against them before it is broadcast. What the viewer sees is a programme item, not a commercial break.
What does it cost?
An all-in item of three minutes costs 2990 and four minutes 3990. That covers everything: preparation, filming, production, editing, presenter, music rights, the channel fee and the broadcast. The price of 5, 6 or 9 minutes is quoted on request.
Where is it filmed?
Usually at your own location, because your business tells the story best. If you would rather be interviewed in the studio in Hilversum, that can be added as an option.
When is it broadcast?
The programmes mostly go out on weekend mornings and afternoons on the Dutch commercial channels. How often your item airs depends on the programme; at the first meeting you hear which broadcast slots are in view for you.
May I use the item myself?
Yes. You receive a digital version for your own use, so on your own website and in your own channels. We also place it on social media.
Do I decide what it is about?
You stay in control. You decide the subject, and before filming starts there is a running order built around your wishes.
How long does the whole process take?
That depends on the programme and on the channel’s broadcast planning. At the first meeting we tell you which broadcast slots are in view and what that means for the schedule.
I have an idea for a programme myself. Is that possible?
Yes, there is a separate route for that. We assess the idea on content and on sponsorship and, once we agree, put it to the Dutch commercial channels. All ideas are treated confidentially.

No obligation

Which programme suits you?

We advise and guide you in finding a programme in which your product or service reaches a large audience. The first conversation costs nothing.
